CMU’s Agro-Industry students joined Japan-Asia Youth Exchange Program in Science (Sakura) 2018

During July 22 – August 1, 2018, 6 undergraduate and 2 graduate students from CMU’s Faculty of Agro-Industry, Biotechnology, accompanied by Assistant Professor Dr. Thanongsak Chaiyaso and Assistant Professor Dr. Ampin Kanthiya, joined the 2018 Japan-Asia Youth Exchange Program in Science (Sakura), held at Kobe University and supported by the Japan Science and Technology Agency: JST.

This program was an opportunity for ASEAN researchers and students to experience Japanese culture and exchange knowledge on production technologies used by industries in Japan.

During this program students studied Basic Gene manipulation (Identification of bacteria based on 165 rRNA gene analysis) and visited places of interest in Heoko Province including Kobe, Himeji and Osaka, and included a visit to various alcoholic beverage companies and a famous sauce production company in Japan.
