CMU’s Faculty of Engineering hosted the Autonomous Aerial Vehicle Challenge 2018 (AAVC 2018) on November 22 – 24, 2018, held at the CMU’s Science and Technology Park (CMU-STeP), which saw 8 teams compete in this competition and provided an opportunity for exchanging knowledge and supporting drone craft development in CMU and Thailand.
The Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) or Autonomous Aerial Vehicle (AAV) or drone aircraft can be controlled by remote and can fly by themselves by using sophisticated programs. UAVs have been applied in the military as well as in commerce and agriculture, that help to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
UAVs is a new technology for Thailand and currently has limited experts. In response to this the Faculty of Engineering aims to develop collaborations with other universities in Thailand together with top universities abroad including Singapore, Japan and India.
