CMU Medical Technology students clinch top spot at regional edition of Pitching Startup Thailand League

On June 27, 2021, at the Kantary Hills Hotel, Chiang Mai, Miss Rattana Kongta and Mr. Takdanai Chumrus, majoring in Medical Technology, Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, Chiang Mai University, won the Northern Region’s Pitching Startup Thailand League for university students competition, hosted by the National Innovation Agency (NIA). The CMU representative, ‘Team Erythro-Sed’, was awarded a prize of 10,000 baht for their presentation on the development of a quality control product for the erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) analyzer, supervised by Asst. Prof. Dr. Suwit Duangmano from the same department.

This year marked the fifth year of the Startup Thailand League, which seeks the best start-ups from all over the country. A total of 70 teams participated in the final round of the regional competition and Mr. Pariwat Wongsmaran, Director of NIA’s Department of Innovative Entrepreneur Development, chaired the award ceremony. As the winner, Team Erythro-Sed will participate in the national competition of the Startup Thailand League at the STARTUP Thailand League: DEMO Day 2021 to be held at the beginning of August with the chance of winning a commercialisation opportunity.
