Mr. Natthaphon Maneekhat, a first-year Design major at the CMU Faculty of Fine Arts, won the Best National Costume Design for Miss Grand Chachoengsao for his work titled ‘Bupphachat Si Paet Riw’ (Flowers of the Land of Eight Streaks).
The design paid homage to Chachoengsao’s symbolic flower, a copper pod (Peltophorum pterocarpum), which is an umbrella-shaped, semi-deciduous perennial that can grow to 25 meters in height. Leaves are bipinnate, panicles are large and upright and flowers are yellow with a mild scent, blooming during the drought season of March – June.
