“ตกผลึก: ที่เขตแดนของดวงอาทิตย์” นิทรรศการที่นำเรื่องราวการผลิตเกลือจากนาเกลือในจังหวัดปัตตานี ซึ่งถูกขนานนามว่าเป็นนาเกลือแหล่งเดียวและแหล่งสุดท้ายของคาบสมุทรมลายู และกำลังจะหายไปตามกาลเวลา นิทรรศการชุดนี้ต้องการนำเสนอการมีอยู่ของภูมิปัญญาการผลิตเกลือสมุทรผ่านการศึกษาและนำเสนอผ่านแนวความคิดของเวลา โดยเป็นผลงานต่อยอดจากวิจัยและนิทรรศการ “กาลตกผลึก” ในปี พ.ศ.2566 ได้จัดแสดงที่ศูนย์ศิลปะบ้านตึก ถ.ท่าแพ จ.เชียงใหม่ ซึ่งได้นำเสนอการผลิตเกลือสินเธาว์โบราณจากอำเภอบ่อเกลือ จังหวัดน่าน ผ่านแนวคิดของเวลา 2 ลักษณะ คือ เวลาแบบภววิสัย (Objectivity Time) และ เวลาแบบอัตวิสัย (Subjectivity Time) จากการศึกษาครั้งนั้นนำไปสู่การต่อยอดเป็นงานวิจัยและงานสร้างสรรค์ผลงานชุดนี้ ด้วยการประกอบความคิดของ “การตกผลึก” ของเกลือสมุทรผ่านวิถีชีวิตและมุมมองของมนุษย์กับการเคลื่อนไหวของ “เวลา” จากมุมมองของธรรมชาติ

จากการสังเกตการมีอยู่ของเวลาในธรรมชาตินั้นคือแสง แสงที่เปลี่ยนแปลงอย่างฉับไว สู่การนำมาศึกษากระบวนการบันทึกภาพเคลื่อนไหวที่สามารถเก็บช่วงแสงและเวลาได้ การนำเสนอการบันทึกภาพในลักษณะฟิล์มที่ไม่ต่อเนื่องกับการนำเสนอภาพลักษณะดิจิตอลที่เป็นเทคโนโลยีปัจจุบันโดยสามารถบันทึกเวลาได้ใกล้เคียงธรรมชาติอย่างที่สุด การนำการบันทึกของ 2 ลักษณะมาปะทะกันในนิทรรศการ เพื่อให้ผู้ชมตกอยู่ในห้วงเวลาที่แตกต่างผ่านภาพเคลื่อนไหว(ในลักษณะวัตถุของเวลา) เช่นเดียวกับเรื่องราวของภูมิปัญญา ความคิดของคนต่างรุ่น การพยายามที่จะดำรงอยู่และความหวาดกลัวการสูญหาย วิถีที่เกิดขึ้นอยู่ทุกเมื่อเชื่อวันจะถูกเวลาเปลี่ยนแปลงได้หรือไม่ ในเมื่อกฏของเวลามันอยู่ทุกที่ ไม่ว่าเราจะอยู่ที่ไหน มันยังคงเดินไปตามครรลองของมัน ภูมิปัญญา ทักษะ ที่ส่งต่อของมนุษย์ จะเปลี่ยนไปอย่างไรเมื่อดำรงอยู่ในกฎของเวลา และเวลาที่เปลี่ยนผันไปเสมอนั้นมันเคยผิดเพี้ยนเปลี่ยนแปลงบ้างไหม หรือมันแค่ “เปลี่ยน” ไปเรื่อยๆไม่มีจุดสิ้นสุด
นิทรรศการชุดนี้พาผู้ชมสำรวจพื้นที่ว่างในความมืดสู่การพิจารณาภาพเคลื่อนไหวและองค์ประกอบต่างๆ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นการคลี่ออกของม้วนฟิล์ม แสงที่ฉายภาพเคลื่อนไหวในความไวที่แตกต่าง การแสดงออกของพื้นผิวของเทคโนโลยีต่างยุคสมัย น้ำทะเลจากปัตตานีและเกลือที่รอการตกผลึก เรื่องราวเนื้อหาของสารคดีที่ประกอบภูมิปัญญา วิถีชีวิต ความเชื่อ ที่เรื่องราวดำเนินอยู่ในครรลองของเวลาที่เปลี่ยนแปลงไปเสมอ การครุ่นคิดถึงการมีอยู่ของมนุษย์และการตกอยู่ในธรรมชาติของเวลาอันยิ่งใหญ่ผ่านองค์ประกอบต่างๆของนิทรรศการเพื่อการย้อนมองดูความเปลี่ยนแปลงต่างๆที่เกิดขึ้นบนโลกที่เราดำรงอยู่

“Crystallization: At the Boundary of the Sun” is an exhibition that tells the story of salt production from salt fields in Pattani Province, which is known as the only and last salt field in the Malay Peninsula and is about to disappear with time. This exhibition aims to present the existence of sea salt production wisdom through the study and presentation through the concept of time. It is an extension of the research and exhibition “Crystallization of Time” in 2023, which was held at the Baan Tuek Art Center, Chiang Mai, which presented the production of ancient rock salt from Bo Kluea District, Nan Province through the 2 concepts of time: Objective Time and Subjective Time. From that study, it led to further development into this research and artwork series by combining the idea of “crystallization” of sea salt through the way of life and perspectives of humans with the movement of “time” from the perspective of nature.

From observing the existence of time in nature, which is light, light that changes rapidly, to studying the process of recording motion pictures that can capture the range of light and time, presenting the recording in the form of discontinuous film, and presenting the digital form of images, which is current technology, that can record time as close to nature as possible, bringing the recording of the two types of images to collide in the exhibition to make the audience fall into a different time through the moving image (in the form of the object of time), as well as the story of wisdom, the thoughts of people from different generations, the attempt to survive and the fear of disappearance, the way that happens every day, can it be changed by time when the law of time is everywhere, no matter where we are, it still follows its own path, how will the wisdom, skills that are passed on from humans change when they exist under the law of time? And has time, which is always changing, ever been distorted or changed? Or does it just “change” continuously without end?

This exhibition takes viewers on a journey into the dark space to consider the moving images and elements in the exhibition, whether it be the unfolding of a film reel, the light projecting the moving images at different sensitivities, the expression of the surface of technology from different eras, the seawater from Pattani and the salt waiting to crystallize, the content of the documentary that includes wisdom, way of life, and beliefs, which the story takes place in the path of time that is always changing. The contemplation of human existence and falling into the nature of the great time through the various elements of the exhibition to look back at the various changes that have occurred on the world we live in.
