HISTORY
University Academic Service Center: UNISERV CMU has operated since 1989. The organization founded by Chiang Mai University to collaborate human resources (Professors, Researchers, and Specialists from different faculties) and technology to develop the community and help in solving problems. UNISERV plays as the central department of Chiang Mai University to support, encourage, and coordinate academic service between internal and external both public and private organizations in domestic and international.
In 1st May 2006, UNISERV merged with International Academics Institutions or International center, according to the 7th University Council on September 23, 2006. It improved every aspect of the organization, including management. Board of directors were assigned to set the policies and approaches based on administration, according to the vision and mission of UNISERV consistent with goals and strategies of Chiang Mai University. To complete the objectives, the director of UNISERV would lead and manage the organization.
Chiang Mai University status was achieved to University of the state on May 6, 2008. On December 20, 2008, University council announced the separation of divisions which were Academics Division and other division. Academic division composed of faculties and college teaching and learning in the degree program. UNISERV was one of other divisions considered as faculty. Board of Directors of UNISERV were the policy-makers and set administration approaches based on the mission of the organization. Director of UNISERV leads the organization with a Board of Directors of UNISERV to complete the goals and objectives.
