CAMT students place third at EDTA Hackathon: Craft Idea - Taking Local Biz Online
8 October 2021
College of Art, Media and Technology
Team Chibakung, from CAMT, Chiang Mai University, won the second runner-up prize at the 2021 edition of the ETDA Business Hackathon titled, ‘Craft Idea - Taking Local Biz Online’, for their presentation, ‘Business Model Case Study of Mae Ing Shibori’. The event was hosted by the Electronic Transactions Development Agency (EDTA) on September 9, 2021. The team consisted of four students majoring in Modern Management and Information Technology: Ms. Pichayapa Sangsrichant, Ms. Nattida Chainuan, Mr. Badin Kupat and Mr. Gridsada Pota, and their supervisor was Assist. Prof. Dr. Sirikorn Santirojanakul.
This year’s competition searched for the best business model for local e-commerce to support local businesses. Team Chibakung studied the community that produced Mae Ing Shibori tie-dye fabrics and proposed a business expansion plan for sustainability. It was suggested that the products, previously available only in-store and on Facebook, be sold on other platforms such as Instagram and Shopee as well. This way the local products can enter the global market with the help of technology as the market-driving force.
