Thai-China MOU on master’s degree in Digital Technology Management (Thailand-China Cross-border E-commerce)
25 February 2022
College of Art, Media and Technology
Assist. Prof. Dr. Worawit Janchai, the Dean of CMU College of Media, Art and Technology (CAMT), and Assist. Prof. Sirikorn Santirojanakul, the Head of the Digital Commerce Sector, signed an academic MOU on curriculum and personnel development between Thailand and China for the Master’s programme in Digital Technology Management (Thailand-China Cross-border E-commerce) in partnership with the China Intelligence Centre (CIC) and the Confucius Institute at CMU, represented by Ms. Lian Chen and Ms. Lai Lin, the Director and the Deputy Director of the Confucius Institute at CMU, respectively. The programme’s establishment is funded by a Mekong-Lancang Cooperation (MLC) Special Fund and the research programme titled ‘Fostering Digital Entrepreneurs’ under the Khon Thai 4.0 scheme.
The selling point of this MSc programme is the fact that it allows people from all professions to develop their digital skills and learn about digital platforms, which could lead to them to start up their own businesses or to become a part of the digital workforce in the future. Not only does a modern organization such as the Confucius Institute at CMU provide education about Chinese language and culture in traditional classrooms, but it also recognizes the importance of building a digital workforce through various learning activities on e-commerce platforms and online marketing with the Chinese language as the medium. It has been partnered with CAMT to host an online marketing media contest for Thai products in the Chinese market, which has been running for five consecutive years. The latest edition, Zhong Xing Cup, was participated in by 100 Chinese and business majors from all over the country. Thus, this programme marks the beginning of the production of project managers who have the communication skills in Thai and Chinese, and the digital communication skills necessary for online trading. Mr. Chakri Techawaree, Manager of the Management and Result Delivery of the Khon Thai 4.0 Scheme section, and other distinguished guests attended the launch held at the Learning Innovation Building, at the CAMT faculty on February 25, 2022.
