CMU Tops National SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR) 2024 in 4 Subjects

CMU has been ranked first in Thailand in four subjects, while placing second in two subjects and third in four subjects, making a total of 10 total first, second, or third rankings in the SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR) 2024. 4,762 institutions worldwide participated.
Overall, CMU is Thailand’s third best-performing institution in the 2024 edition of the SCImago Institutions Rankings, placing in the national top three in 10 out of 19 subjects, which are as follows:
No 1 in Thailand in Dentistry; Agricultural and Biological Sciences; Mathematics; and Chemistry;
No 2 in Thailand in Environmental Science and Psychology; and
No 3 in Thailand in Veterinary Medicine; Pharmacology, Toxicology and Pharmaceutical Studies; Medicine and Biochemistry; Genetics and Molecular Biology.
The rankings’ indicators are divided into three groups:
1. SCOPUS Research (50%) based on publications, citations, authors affiliated with the publications and the institution’s research published in SCOPUS;
2. Innovation (30%) based on innovative knowledge, patents and scientific publication output from an institution cited in patents based on PATSTAT; and
3. Societal Factors (20%) based on Web Size, the number of pages associated to the institution’s URL, subnets connected to the institution’s website and the number of documents and news published on social media.
