2023 Evidence Ambassadors of World Evidence-Based Healthcare
8 November 2023
Faculty of Nursing
On October 20, 2023, Professor Dr. Patraporn Bhatarasakook, the Evidence Ambassador, proudly represented the esteemed Faculty of Nursing at Chiang Mai University to commemorate World Evidence-based Healthcare Day.
.
This year's global event, themed "Evidence and Global Health Equity," sheds light on the pivotal role of evidence in pursuing global health equity. Developing fair and just health policies, resilient healthcare systems and responsive services hinges on the sound functioning of evidence ecosystems. The generation and application of evidence by various stakeholders, including the public, healthcare professionals, researchers, and policymakers, collectively contribute to the vitality of these ecosystems. The 2023 campaign aspires to explore ways the global evidence community can actively champion and integrate equity into these ecosystems, thus advancing the noble cause of global health equity.
.
Collaborating organizations that included JBI, Cochrane, Campbell Collaboration, GIN, the Institute for Evidence-Based Healthcare, the Centre for Evidence-Based Health Care, and NICE have united to launch the 2023 campaign for World Evidence-Based Healthcare Day under the theme 'Evidence and Global Health Equity.' This campaign is dedicated to delving into how the global evidence community can nurture and embed equity within and across evidence ecosystems, effectively propelling the agenda of global health equity. It also aims to ignite a collective spirit among individuals and organizations, motivating them to challenge the existing paradigms and embrace a new era of evidence generation and utilization that propels progress toward achieving Sustainable Development Goals.
.
Professor Dr. Patraporn Bhatarasakoon, Director of the Thailand Center for Evidence-based Healthcare (EBHC), a designated JBI Center of Excellence located within the Faculty of Nursing at Chiang Mai University, Thailand, is at the forefront of this effort.
