On behalf of CMU, Associate Professor Dr. Itthichai Preechawuttipong, Deputy Director of the CMU Energy Research and Development Institute of Nakornping (ERDI), received certificates for CFO and Carbon Neutral badge use from the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO) at the appreciation and presentation ceremony. CMU organizations receiving certificates at the same event included:

1. Mae Hia Educational Area receiving the CFO certificate,
2. Hariphunchai Educational Centre receiving the CFO and Carbon Neutral certificates, and
3. ERDI receiving the Carbon Neutral certificate.

CMU has significantly reduced greenhouse gas emissions by implementing diverse sustainability measures, including solar rooftop installations, waste management, plastic recycling into RDF, wastewater conversion to biogas for power generation and CBG production, and carbon credit procurement. These efforts have earned CMU Carbon Neutral certification from TGO.

The carbon footprint assessment and carbon neutrality certification project for Mae Hia Educational Area and Hariphunchai Centre was completed successfully, with the goal of allowing all CMU sections to conduct their own emissions assessments and reduce emissions by 70% by 2027 and 100% by 2032, resulting in a carbon neutral university.
Being certified for CFO and Carbon Neutral badge use, the university places a high priority on missions related to carbon footprint and offset. It upholds social responsibility and is committed to assessing emissions, thereby managing and reducing greenhouse gases for sustainable growth towards a low-carbon future.
