Mr. Natthawat Khammata from the Department of Physics and Materials Science, CMU Faculty of Science, will represent Thailand with four other delegates at the DESY (Deutsches Elektronen Synchrotron) International Summer Student Programme 2023, from July 18 to September 7, 2023, at DESY Hamburg and Zeuthen, Germany.
Candidates are shortlisted through interviews done by The Information Technology Foundation Under the Initiative of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) and Synchrotron Light Research Institute. The final list is then approved by HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
DESY is a world-class research centre on particle physics and synchrotron light research where scientists from all over the world come to conduct research, for instance, the use of particle accelerators to find elementary particles created by the collision between electrons and protons, or the application synchrotron light produced by high energy storage rings to basic and applied research in physics, biology, chemistry, materials science, geology and medicine. Each year, students in physics and natural sciences are selected to participate in research activities at DESY.
