On June 20, 2025, at the Miracle Grand Hotel in Bangkok, the International College of Digital Innovation (ICDI), Chiang Mai University, led by Associate Professor Dr. Somchai Sriyab (Vice Dean), Assistant Professor Dr. Benjamas Suksatit (Vice Dean), and Assistant Professor Dr. Nopasit Chakpitak, Chair of the Graduate Program, held an academic collaboration meeting with Professor Campbell Booth, Vice Dean Research, Faculty of Engineering, University of Strathclyde, United Kingdom.

The discussion focused on developing joint initiatives in Transnational Education (TNE) and Double Degree programs between the two institutions, with the aim of supporting future collaboration under the Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) framework. KTP is a UK-wide initiative that enables businesses to enhance their competitiveness and innovation by leveraging knowledge and expertise from academic or research institutions.

A KTP involves a three-way partnership among a business, a university (or research institution), and a skilled graduate known as an Associate. The objective is to drive strategic innovation and embed new knowledge within the business. The program is part-funded by Innovate UK and other funding bodies in the UK, including those in Scotland. The University of Strathclyde, as one of Scotland's leading universities, has played an active role in numerous successful KTP projects.

This meeting marks an important first step in building a long-term collaboration between ICDI and the University of Strathclyde, aiming to enhance innovation capacity, facilitate knowledge transfer, and provide students with greater access to international education opportunities.
