CMU won three awards at the Higher Education Institutions for Global and Frontier Research Development Awards 2023 from the Office of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation. Professor Dr. Pongruk Sribanditmongkol, CMU President, along with Associate Professor Dr. Winita Punyodom, Vice President, was presented the award by Minister Supamas Isarabhakdi, the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, who chaired the presentation ceremony held on March 27, 2024, at the Eternity Ballroom, Pullman Bangkok King Power.
The three awards won by CMU were:
1. Outstanding Award in Research Ecosystem Establishment and Development for the project titled ‘CMU Research Ecosystem Development’
2. Honorable Mentions Award in Research Workforce Development for the project titled ‘CMU Research Ecosystem Development’
3. Honorable Mentions Award in Internationally Recognized and Competitive Research for the project titled ‘CMU Research Ecosystem Development’
The Higher Education Institutions for Global and Frontier Research Development Awards 2023 honored projects that would lead to national research workforce development and innovation development from advanced research and knowledge, thus enhancing the country’s competitiveness. This is to push educational institutions to support and promote research of internationally recognized quality, as well as to assess the success of projects initiated by institutions to build and improve their research ecosystems with the purpose of fostering global and frontier research, of which the outcomes would be utilized for policy implementation and improvement.
