MIdS CMU Hosts the Academic Seminar on Health Innovation and Technology

Multidisciplinary and Interdisciplinary School
On Friday, September 12, 2025, Multidisciplinary and Interdisciplinary School, Chiang Mai University, hosted the 3rd Northern Academic Seminar on Health Innovation and Technology, in collaboration with the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), the Center for Health Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, and the Hub of Talents in Health Innovation and Technology.
The opening remarks were delivered by Asst. Prof. Dr. Tanyanuparb Anantana, Vice President of Chiang Mai University, followed by the seminar report and objectives presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Apichat Sopadang, Dean of MIdS CMU. The seminar aimed to establish a Hub of Talents, focusing on specialists in Digital Healthcare Innovation from various sectors, to exchange knowledge, integrate research, technology, and innovation into healthcare and industry applications, and collectively develop a National Research Master Plan. This plan not only seeks to shape policies but also emphasizes translating research into practical applications at the local level, building human capacity in Digital Health, and ensuring readiness for global digital health transitions—marking an important milestone for driving Thai health innovation toward a sustainable, inclusive, and adaptive system. The seminar was held at Science and Technology Park (STeP), Chiang Mai University.

The seminar featured distinguished speakers delivering talks on the following topics:
“Hub of Talent Master Plan: Driving Digital Innovation and Technology for the Advancement of Thailand’s Healthcare System” by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Duangpun Kritchanchai, Managing Director, Hub of Talents in Health Innovation and Technology, Mahidol University.
“Challenges and Opportunities in Adopting Digital Transformation and Smart Technologies in Healthcare” by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wachiranun Sirikul, MD, Department of Community Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University.
“Ethical Guidelines for the Use of AI in Medicine and Healthcare” by Asst. Prof. Dr. Narit Hnoohom, Assistant to the President for Information and Digital Transformation, Mahidol University.
“Gastronomy: Health Tech Meets Culinary Innovation” by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yuthana Phimolsiripol, Dean, Faculty of Agro-Industry, Chiang Mai University.
“From Plant to Pixel: The Next Era of Personalized Tech-Driven Natural Products” by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Neti Waranuch, Director, Cosmetic and Natural Products Research Center, Faculty of Pharmacy, Naresuan University.
