CMU-UT Symposium 2024: Fostering Global Collaboration in Urban Engineering and Informatics

The Faculty of Engineering at Chiang Mai University, in collaboration with the
Department of Urban Engineering
at the
Graduate School of Engineering and the Center for Spatial Information Science at the University of Tokyo, Japan,
proudly inaugurated the international academic symposium "
CMU-UT Symposium on Urban Engineering and Informatics 2024
". The event took place from April 24 to 26, 2024, at the Kantary Hills Hotel and Chiang Mai University, located in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
This symposium is an integral activity under the
Big Bang International Projects
, supported by Chiang Mai University, aimed at fostering collaboration with prestigious international universities and strengthening cooperative networks. The primary objective is to reinforce the long-standing relationship between
Chiang Mai University
and
The University of Tokyo
, allowing for closer academic and research ties. Additionally, it provides a valuable platform for experts and researchers from partner universities to exchange knowledge, share research experiences, and disseminate academic works, paving the way for future collaborations in student development, joint research projects, and the co-development of project proposals to seek funding support from government and private agencies.
A total of 16 research papers were presented by academic scholars and researchers from both institutions, with over 60 participants in attendance. The opening ceremony, held on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, was graced by
Assistant Professor Todsaporn Pichaiya
, Vice President of Chiang Mai University, and featured welcoming remarks by
Associate
Professor Dr. Thongchai Fongsamoort
, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University, delivered at the Doi Suthep Conference Room on the 1st Floor of the Kantary Hills Hotel.
This academic symposium serves as a pivotal platform for fostering relationships and disseminating knowledge, propelling innovation to unprecedented heights.
