CMU’s Team Smart Tech Lab led by Science and Technology Park (STeP), the host organization of the science park network in the northern region, won the first runner-up prize at the national round of Research to Market Thailand 9th (R2M 9th) for their research on the mutation detector kit for NPM1, which is associated with acute leukemia. The national round of competition was hosted online by Khon Khaen University.
This year’s winner was Team Daisy Glass from Mahasarakham University who presented their research on solar mirrors and the second runner-up was Team Gen A Tech from the Suranaree University of Technology who worked on a DNA gender detection kit for date palm. The honourable mention prize went to Team Morekit from Walailak University and Team Top Team from Ubon Ratchathani University for their projects on a dermatophyte trichophyton detection kit and a machine for washing and sterilizing fruits and vegetables using ozone micro-bubble technology in combination with ultrasonic technology controlled by IoT. All winners received prize money along with a plaque of honor.
This project was a great opportunity for researchers, innovators and students to present their research through the mechanism and service of regional science parks that drive further application and development, as well as opening up technology business opportunities, allowing them to learn more about starting up a business, the innovation process and marketing. In the national round of competition, CMU STeP led Team Smart Tech Lab and Team Cloud – two winners of the northern region competition held at The Brick X @nsp at CMU STeP, at the national edition, which was held online.
