CMU and The National Farmer Council jointly Promote Research, the Development of Agricultural Technology, and "The Farmer's Heir Project"

Clinical Professor Niwes Nantachit, M.D., President of Chiang Mai University signed a memorandum of cooperation with Dr. Sompoonsub Klavikorn, Secretary General of the National Farmer Council on July 19, 2019, at CMU’s University Office with Mr. Prapat Panyachatraksa, Chairman of the National Farmer Council as a witness. The purpose of the collaboration between CMU and the National Farmer Council of Thailand is to create and develop agricultural technology by promoting agricultural research and enhancing expertise skills, in addition to their "The Farmer's Heir Project".
Associate Professor Dr. Nuttha Potapohn, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Chiang Mai University, and the National Farmer Council also signed an academic cooperation. They will jointly formulate a plan to develop agricultural technology and promote research development in an effort to improve the production processing and marketing consequently raising the level of professionalism and standards of living for farmers both in terms of the economy and the society. Additionally, they aim to provide farmers, their organizations and their workers access to knowledge and education as well as an opportunity for the farmer’s children to participate in "The Farmer’s Heir Project" where they will be able to receive their higher education at the Faculty of Agriculture, Chiang Mai University. In addition, another purpose of this cooperation is to support practical agricultural research to achieve stability, prosperity and sustainability in the agricultural occupation, maximizing the benefits for farmers and as well as consumers.
