ENG CMU and HBNU Collaborate on "HBNU-CMU International Capstone 2024 Project" Phase 1
27 September 2024
Faculty of Engineering
From 21st to 25th September 2024, a group of students and professors from Hanbat National University (HBNU) in South Korea joined forces with students from the Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University (CMU) in Thailand for the first phase of the HBNU-CMU International Capstone 2024.
The week kicked off with a free day, followed by a visit to the iconic Wat Doi Suthep, giving everyone a taste of Chiang Mai’s culture. The students also had some fun at Sunday Night Market in the old town.
On Monday, the official activities began with a welcome session at CMU’s Faculty of Engineering. After introductions and ice-breaking activities, CMU students presented their Capstone project topics, leading to group discussions where HBNU and CMU students brainstormed and started drafting their project plans. Meanwhile, the professors took a tour of CMU’s labs.
Tuesday included visits to the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT) and CMU’s Smart Campus Management Centre. The day ended with another visit to Angkaew Reservoir.
The final day was all about presentation prep. Students fine-tuned their projects and presented them in the afternoon, followed by a closing ceremony and a meeting between professors to discuss future collaborations. This collaboration between HBNU and CMU not only enriched the students’ academic experience but also fostered cross-cultural friendships. The final phase of the project will take place in December at Hanbat National University.
