Times Higher Education released its Asia University Rankings 2025 on April 23, 2025, featuring 835 institutions across 35 countries. 20 Thai universities were included this year, with Chulalongkorn University leading nationally at No. 132 in Asia, followed by Mahidol University (No. 199), King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (No. 201-250), Chiang Mai University (No. 251-300), and Khon Kaen University (No. 351-400).
CMU demonstrated a significant improvement in this year's rankings, particularly in Research Quality, which constitutes 30% of the overall score. This metric is calculated based on Citation Impact, Field-Weighted Citation Impact (FWCI), the proportion of publications in the top 10% by FWCI, and Research Influence, measured by citations of CMU's research in high-impact publications.
This progress underscores CMU's dedication to internationally recognized, high-quality research. The university remains committed to fostering research that yields positive social and economic impacts, contributing to sustainability regionally and globally.
