On November 30 and December 1, 2024, Chiang Mai University’s International College of Digital Innovation (ICDI-CMU), in collaboration with Botnoi Group (via the subsidiary iBotnoi Co., Ltd.), hosted the CMU Inter x Botnoi Hackathon 2024 at the builds CMU facility, located in the university’s health center building. The event was organized by ICDI's startup club, DiNovate Club, to enhance participants’ critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and awareness of challenges in the digital age through creative solution development using Botnoi’s digital tools.
This two-day event featured expert speakers and judges, including Dr. Thanawat Thiasiriphet and Dr. Winn Voravuthikunchai from iBotnoi Co., Ltd. (Dr. Winn is also the CEO of Botnoi Group), and Mr. Satityouth Jaipringprert from the Science and Technology Park, CMU. Assistant Professor Dr. Rujira Ooncharoen, Dean of ICDI, oversaw the event, which was supported financially by builds CMU.
The Hackathon brought together over 35 international students from various nationalities, including Myanmar, China, Spain, Brunei, Taiwan, and Thailand. Participants hailed from diverse CMU faculties such as Social Sciences, Science, Engineering, the College of Media, Arts and Technology, and ICDI.
This initiative highlighted a meaningful collaboration between academia and the private sector, aiming to prepare students to tackle real-world digital challenges. The event provided opportunities to practice using modern tools, exchange cultural and technological insights, and build an international network.
