Dr. Nuttaphat Sukchitt, School of Digital Innovation, International College of Digital Innovation, together with a team of faculty members, was awarded First Prize for their research proposal titled “CM?Walkway” during the “New Faculty Preparation Program” at the CAF? Research and Innovation Pitching Day, 1st edition. The award was presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Piraya Cherdsatirakul, Vice President of Chiang Mai University.

This research is expected to generate significant positive impacts on the environment, public health, and the economy in Northern Thailand. By converting agricultural biomass waste—such as rice husks, straw, and corn cobs, which are major sources of PM2.5 particulate pollution—into bio-based sidewalk construction materials via pyrolysis, the project offers a cost-effective and eco-friendly alternative to conventional cement or petroleum-based carbon materials.
