NURSECMU welcomes international students from 5 universities for a exchange program

On August 21, 2023, the Faculty of Nursing at Chiang Mai University, recently hosted esteemed nursing faculty and students from well-known universities, such as Kagawa University, Miyazaki Prefectural Nursing University, Toho University, Taipei Medical University, and Tzu Chi University of Science and Technology. Dr. Juttarat Messukko, the Associate Dean responsible for Research, Innovation, and Global Mission Integration, and Dr. Preeyakamon Krikitrat, Assistant to the Dean responsible for Global Mission Integration, on behalf of Asst. Prof. Dr. Thanee Kaewthummanukul, the Dean, warmly welcomed the guests and provided a program orientation to all participants.
The exchange program promotes cross-cultural exchange between Thailand, Japan, and Taiwan nursing students. The program includes academic and cultural activities that enhance communication skills, foster insights, and build connections across institutions. It also encourages sharing unique experiences and perspectives between institutions, inspiring new ideas, and forming new friendships.
During this program, participants will have the chance to engage in various informative lectures and workshops. Topics covered will include an overview of nursing in Thailand, the healthcare system, and healthcare services provided to the community. A special session will also be on local wisdom and traditional Thai medicine.
Participants will have the opportunity to visit several locations, including the Saraphi Bovorn Pattana Hospital in the Saraphi district, the Nursing Learning Unit (NLU), Historical Museum, the faculty’s Nursing Laboratory Unit, and the Innovative Center at Maharaj Nakhon Chiang Mai Hospital. Moreover, participants will interact with local nurses and students and enjoy sightseeing in Chiang Mai throughout the trip.
Participating in the exchange program will enhance its participants' understanding and academic journeys, enabling them to contribute to their respective universities upon their return. This program is scheduled to run from August 21-26, 2023.
