On January 28, 2025, the Faculty of Agro-Industry, Chiang Mai University (CMU), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with CMH Life Science Co., Ltd. and the College of Life Science, Sejong University, Republic of Korea. The signing ceremony took place at CMU’s Faculty of Agro-Industry, with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yuthana Phimolsiripol, Dean of the Faculty of Agro-Industry, and Dr. Dr. Rutthavith Siriamornsith, Chief Executive Officer of CMH Life Science Co., Ltd., representing their respective institutions. The event was also attended by executives, faculty members, and stakeholders from both organizations.
This MOU aims to promote research and education on medicinal plants of significance in Northern Thailand, focusing on extracting bioactive compounds, studying their biological activities and safety in laboratory settings, animal models, and human trials. Additionally, it seeks to apply these bioactive compounds for commercial development.
The collaboration is expected to enhance research and development in medicinal plants, benefiting both scientific and economic sectors while fostering partnerships between academia and industry for sustainable development. Furthermore, representatives from the three parties are scheduled to visit the College of Life Science, Sejong University, in February 2025 to further discuss and formalize a trilateral MOU.
