Engineering Faculty Member Wins Princess Environmental Health Award for Individual Excellence in Environmental Health 2025

Associate Professor Dr. Sate Sampattagul, the lead researcher behind DustBoy, a community sensor-based air quality monitor from the Department of Industrial Engineering, has been awarded the prestigious Princess Environmental Health Award for Individual Excellence in Environmental Health 2025. Dr. Sate, who also serves as the director of UNISERV and the CMU Climate Change Data Centre (CCDC), will receive a plaque of honor from the Deputy Minister of Public Health today, July 4, 2025. This will be followed by a royal visit and medal presentation ceremony with HRH Princess Chulabhorn Walailak.

July 4 marks Thailand's Environmental Health Day. This significant date was graciously designated by HRH Princess Chulabhorn Walailak, coinciding with her birthday. The Department of Health, under the Ministry of Public Health, organizes this annual event to recognize outstanding individuals and institutions in the field, presenting them with medals and plaques of honor.
