The CMU AI Research Team Won the International Best Paper Award
31 January 2019
Biomedical Engineering Institute
During January 16-18, 2562, The Artificial Intelligent (AI) research team from the Computational Intelligence Research Laboratory (CI lab), Faculty of Engineering and the Biomedical Engineering Institute of Chiang Mai University have received the Best Paper Award in the 2019 International Conference on Green and Human Information Technology at The Institute of Electronics and Information Engineering, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
“Self-Organizing Feature Map (SOFM) for Uncertain Data” is a research paper by Associate Professor Dr. Sansanee Auephanwiriyakul and Associate Professor Dr. Nipon Theeraumpon from the Faculty of Engineering and the Biomedical Engineering Institute of Chiang Mai University. The research introduces a new methodology for grouping data in the world of AI. By using the “fuzzy number” instead of only numbers, SOFM was able to work with the Linguistic variable for the first time in the world. It is a basic principle that applies advanced mathematics to change the AI system all over the world. The CMU AI research team has already implemented this AI system for large corporations, armies, hospitals, power plants, etc. covering problems in big data, data mining, pattern analysis, etc.
For now, we will have to keep an eye on what the CMU AI research team will create next for the development of the AI system.
