CMU Faculty of Architecture Hosts CMU-KIT International Architectural Workshop 2025 Opening Ceremony

On September 9, 2025, the Faculty of Architecture at Chiang Mai University (CMU) welcomed and held the opening ceremony for the "CMU-KIT International Architectural Workshop 2025," a collaborative project with the Faculty of Architecture at Kyoto Institute of Technology (KIT), Japan. The ceremony was officially opened by Assistant Professor Dr. Phandin Unchanam, Dean of the CMU Faculty of Architecture. Other participating faculty members included Prof. Dr. Nawi Ongsawangchai, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Apichoke Lekagul, Dr. Kullanan Sukpinit, and Dr. Chonnipa Kanchaykham.
The opening ceremony featured lectures on the significance of the workshop's chosen sites. The first lecture, delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Worasit Tantinipankul, Associate Dean for Research and International Relations, focused on the history and urban dynamics of the Warorot Market and San Pa Khoi areas. The second lecture, titled "Creative Lanna," was given by Prof. Dr. Ekkachai Mahaek, Vice President of Chiang Mai University and Chairman of the Center for the Promotion of Arts and Culture and Creative Lanna. From the Kyoto Institute of Technology, Prof. Dr. Akira Kakuda and Prof. Dr. Masato Takagi were honored guests at the ceremony.
