On Wednesday, 23 July 2025, the International College of Digital Innovation, Chiang Mai University (ICDI), in collaboration with the Office of the Private Education Commission, Ministry of Education, co-hosted the 2025 National Speech Contest in English, Chinese, and Thai for Non-Thai Nationals, under the project titled “Showcasing the Potential of Private Schools to Drive Thailand’s Soft Power.”
The event was held at the multi-purpose hall of ICDI, CMU.

This competition served as a national platform for Thai and international students across various education levels to showcase their linguistic and public speaking abilities creatively in three languages—English, Chinese, and Thai. It aimed to foster confidence, cross-cultural communication skills, and global-mindedness, in alignment with Thailand’s Soft Power strategy across key dimensions such as language, culture, education, and international communication.

ICDI was honored to welcome:
- Asst. Prof. Dr. Rujira Ouncharoen, Dean of the International College of Digital Innovation, who delivered the welcome remarks, and
- Dr. Wilaiwan Wannachotiphawech, representative of the Office of the Private Education Commission, Ministry of Education, who presided over the opening ceremony.

The competition was divided into two sessions:
- Morning – Kindergarten, Primary School, and Lower Secondary School levels
- Afternoon – Upper Secondary School and General Public levels

With over 100 participants from private educational institutions nationwide, the event was filled with enthusiasm, talent, and diversity. The speeches were judged by a panel of esteemed experts from ICDI, who brought with them professional insights and multilingual expertise.

ICDI hopes this event will continue to serve as an inspiring and inclusive platform for students to develop their language proficiency, celebrate cultural diversity, and pursue excellence in communication—preparing them to thrive in an increasingly globalized world.
