The Capstone project aims to create experiences for students that allows them to learn from real life working situations. With this in mind the “CMU – HBNU International Capstone 2019” project was held by CMU’s Faculty of Engineering together with the Hanbat National University, South Korea, to enhance student learning and to allow students and lecturers to exchange their experiences in academic fields and on national traditions and customs.

In 2019, 10 students from Hanbat National University visited CMU to attend a “Housing Design for Elderly People” (Capstone Project) together with 12 Faculty of Engineering students and 3 students from the Faculty of Architecture.

Upon their return the Korean students via teleconferencing worked together with the CMU students in order to improve the house design for elderly people. On a later date the CMU students visited Hanbat National University in order to continue work on the model house for elderly people and upon completion of their visit presented their results.

The “CMU – HBNU International Capstone 2019” was a strong accomplishment and participants understood the process of working together with others who have different habits, tastes, experiences, skills, knowledge and understanding and gained valuable experiences beyond the class room.
