The Faculty of Agro-Industry, Chiang Mai University, extends its heartfelt congratulations to Asst. Prof. Dr. Wisuwat Wannamakok, Head of the Department of Marine Product Technology (MPT) and lecturer of the Agro-Industrial Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program (AIE), together with a student team from the Department of Food Science and Technology (FST). Ms. Nongnapat Orrachorn, Mr. Pattaphon Pandee, Ms. Pitchaporn Phannarai, and Ms. Sawanya Piroml. for winning the 2nd Runner-up Prize in the “Makro HoReCa Start-up Pitching Challenge 2025”, under the theme “Turning Signature Dishes into Start-up Businesses 2025”.
The competition was part of the Makro HoReCa 2025 – Thailand’s 18th Food Business Expo, held at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani, Hall 8, on October 31, 2025.Their award-winning project, titled “Pad Mat Sa Mee Nuea Angus Toon Phrom Ajad” (Stir-Fried Angus Beef Noodles with Sweet & Sour Relish) under the brand “MeeMun”, was inspired by the concept “Not just selling food... but selling the Thai premium dining experience.” The project aims to elevate Thai cuisine to a global level by blending the delicacy of Thai flavors with the convenience of modern lifestyles.
MeeMun offers diverse formats to suit every lifestyle — from ready-to-go meal boxes ideal for urban living, to hot-pot delivery for a fresh dining experience, ready-to-eat (RTE) options for convenience, and ready-to-cook (RTC) packs for home chefs. With its clear concept, refined taste, and distinctive presentation, the MeeMun team stood out among entries from 19 institutions nationwide, successfully advancing to the Top 8 finalists and proudly securing the 2nd Runner-up Prize — marking their first remarkable achievement on the national stage.
