Corporate Communication and Alumni Relations Center (CCARC)
CherryKoff, a healthy drink made from coffee cherry pulp, developed by the AIMCE (Advanced Research and Innovation Management for a Creative Economy) research group, was named the second runner-up at the Agri Plus Awards 2025 in the Rising Star category, earning a trophy from Princess

The CherryKoff project is funded by the Agricultural Research and Development Office and Boncafe (Thailand), as a part of a project titled ‘Thepsadej Community Capacity Development through High Value Innovation from Coffee Bean Production and Holistic Management.’ Other outputs of the project include dried sweetened cherry coffee and the establishment of a BCG model learning centre in the Thepsadej community, aiming to generate value from agricultural waste and enhance value for consumers following the BCG model. The BCG model is an integration of a bioeconomy, circular economy and a green economy, in which bioeconomy involves the production of renewable biological resources and the conversion of these resources into value added products.
AIMCE is headed by Associate Professor Dr. Wassanai Wattanutchariya from the Department of Industrial Engineering at the CMU Faculty of Engineering. Other members include Dr. Renus Sermboonsang from the Faculty of Business Administration, Associate Professor Dr. Roengchai Tansuchat from the Faculty of Economics, Associate Professor Dr. Phisit Seesuriyachan, Assistant Professor
Dr. Churairat Moukamnerd, Dr. Pipat Tangjaidee, Dr. Phatthanaphong Therdtatha and Dr. Niphawan Panti from the Department of Biotechnology at the Faculty of Agro-industry, and Assistant Professor
Dr. Amares Thepma, from the School of Architecture and Fine Arts at the University of Phayao.
The prestigious Agri Plus Award aims to inspire entrepreneurs, researchers and students to showcase their ideas and present outstanding innovative agricultural products and services, promoting competitiveness and strength for entrepreneurs’ sustainability. The Ministry of Commerce plans to showcase the products by Agri Plus Awards entrepreneurs at both domestic and international exhibitions, starting at the Thaifex-Anuga Asia 2025 this week. The ministry has also planned to organize the Agri Plus Expo and other activities to advance research in partnership with the Programme Management Unit for Competitiveness (PMUC) to foster a network of collaboration between Thai researchers and agricultural entrepreneurs.
