A Working Group from Chiang Mai University Visited the Yunnan Normal University Executive Team to Discuss Academic Cooperation at Yunnan Normal University's Chenggong Campus in Kunming, Yunnan Province, People's Republic of China
On June 13, 2024, a delegation from Chiang Mai University, led by Assistant Professor Todsaporn Pichaiya, Vice President of Chiang Mai University, along with representatives from the International College of Digital Innovation and the Faculty of Engineering, traveled to Kunming, and paid a courtesy call to the executive team of Yunnan Normal University (YNNU). This visit marks another significant step in the 18-year-long cooperation between the two institutions.
Chiang Mai University and Yunnan Normal University have a rich history of academic cooperation and cultural exchange, including the establishment of a Confucius Institute at Chiang Mai University, supported by Yunnan Normal University. YNNU has sent five Chinese directors to Chiang Mai University, and both institutions have collaborated on various projects across multiple fields of study. The latest noteworthy project is the "China-Laos-Thailand Education Digitization International Joint Research and Development Center of Yunnan Province," a joint research initiative between the International College of Digital Innovation (ICDI) and Yunnan Normal University.
This visit aims to not only strengthen the longstanding relationship between the two institutions but also explore new areas of cooperation, such as transport, languages, education, research, tourism, digital geography, and the digital economy. The Chiang Mai University delegation had the opportunity to meet with the new management team of YNNU and received a warm welcome at Yunnan Normal University's Chenggong Campus in Kunming.
