The School of Public Policy, Chiang Mai University, has joined as one of the 12 member organisations of the Thailand Foresight Alliance, established by the APEC Center for Technology Foresight (APEC CTF), the Office of the National Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Policy Council (NXPO), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI).

This academic alliance aims to strengthen the country’s preparedness for economic, social, technological, and environmental transformations, support the development of strategic policies, and foster collaboration among government, private sector, and academic institutions. The initiative is being driven under Horizon 2030 to guide the future direction of Thailand’s higher education, science, research, and innovation policies.

On this occasion, Asst.Prof. Dr. Pobsook Chamchong, Deputy Director of the School, shared approaches to applying foresight in support of building a just sustainable future, a core focus of the School. She highlighted ongoing collaborative policy initiatives with both domestic and international partners in areas such as the right to food, climate change, social justice, education, and urban governance in challenging contexts such as border health. She also reaffirmed the School’s commitment to supporting the Alliance through deliberative foresight, with the aim of co-creating a just sustainable future.
