Prof. Dr. Korakot Nganvongpanit, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Chiang Mai University, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chatchote Thitaram, Director of the Elephant and Wildlife Health Center, along with their team welcomed 65 researchers, veterinarians, and elephant conservationists from 14 countries to attend the "Asian EEHV workshop group meeting" on November 13, 2023 at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Chiang Mai University. The meeting aims to jointly exchange information on the situation, diagnosis, and treatment from each country as well as research on Elephant Endotheliotropic Herpesvirus or EEHV which the co-organizers of the meeting are the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Kasetsart University, Thai Elephant Conservation Center (National Elephant Institute), Mandai Nature Group (Singapore), and the International Elephant Foundation (USA). The Oregon Zoo Foundation also helped to further support organizing the meeting.
