ICDI Hosts “DIFT 2025-1” Conference on Innovation in the Age of AI

International College of Digital Innovation
The International College of Digital Innovation (ICDI), Chiang Mai University, successfully organized the Digital Innovation and Financial Technology Conference (DIFT) 2025-1 on Saturday, June 7, 2025. Held under the theme “Innovation in the Age of AI: Balancing Automation and Human Creativity,” the event brought together students, academics, and industry experts to explore the evolving role of artificial intelligence in digital and financial innovation.
The conference was formally opened by Asst. Prof. Dr. Chaiwuth Tangsomchai, Associate Dean of ICDI, followed by a keynote address by Mr. Veerakit Ussamarn, Senior R&D Associate at SCBX R&D and Innovation Lab. His talk, “AI Adoption Journey: SCBX’s Strategy for AI Innovation and Business Impact through AI Use Cases,” offered valuable insights into the strategic implementation of AI in the financial sector.
The event aimed to promote academic exchange and encourage graduate students to publish their research. It provided a platform for presenting innovative ideas, boosting students’ confidence, and fostering international academic collaboration.
A total of 16 graduate students delivered oral research presentations, which were evaluated by a panel of distinguished scholars, including:
• Asst. Prof. Dr. Kittawit Autchariyapanitkul (Faculty of Economics, Maejo University) and Dr. Watcharin Sarachai (Faculty of Science, Maejo University)
• Dr. S.P. Gayathri (Gandhigram Rural Institute, India)
• Prof. Dr. Luliia Trabskaia and Prof. Dr. Anna Daviy (ITMO University, Russia)
Outstanding Research Presentation Awards were granted to:
• Ms. Jingxian Chen (Master’s student) for her study on “Chinese Sports Major College Students’ Purchase Intention Toward Personalized AI Smart Devices: An SOR Model Approach” Thesis Advisor: Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmad Yahya Dawod
• Mr. Natchanon Chaitip (Master’s student) for his research on “The Potential for Bike-Sharing Expansion in Thailand” Thesis Advisor: Dr. Piang-or Loahavilai
The DIFT 2025-1 conference reflects ICDI’s commitment to nurturing future-ready graduate students and promoting international knowledge exchange in digital innovation and financial technology.
