CMU Engineering delivers bottle crushers for campus use

On December 30, 2021 at Chot Manotham Building in the CMU Faculty of Engineering, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sampan Singharajwarapan, CMU Vice President, chaired a delivery ceremony regarding a Bottle Crusher invented by the CMU Centre for Safety, Occupational Health and Environment (CMU SH&E), of the Office of Research Administration, to handle used glass chemical containers for safe and appropriate disposal. Eight Bottle Crushers were given to CMU Faculties that handle this type of waste, namely Medicine, Agriculture, Science, Engineering, Agro-industry, Pharmacy, Associated Medical Sciences and Veterinary Medicine.
Funded by CMU, the machine was developed by the Department of Mechanical Engineering’s Assoc. Prof. Dr. Radom Pongvutthithum, Director of the Centre for Integration of Robotic Engineering, Automation and Smart Manufacturing Engineering, and the Central Workshop for Innovation and Prototype Fabrication (INNO-FAB), in collaboration with researchers at INNO-FAB.
