CMU Nursing Dean Joins WHO Collaborating Centres Global Meeting at ICN Congress

Assistant Professor Dr. Suparat Wangsrikhun, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing at Chiang Mai University, together with Associate Professor Dr. Phanida Juntasopeepun, Associate Dean, virtually joined the meeting of the Global Network of WHO Collaborating Centres for Nursing and Midwifery (GNWHOCCNM) on June 10, 2025.

The hybrid meeting was held as an ICN Congress Side Meeting in Helsinki, Finland, bringing together representatives from WHO Collaborating Centres worldwide, both in person and virtually. The agenda focused on regional collaboration strategies, the latest updates, and an in-depth discussion of the World Health Organization’s "State of the World’s Nursing 2025 (SoWN2025)" report, which assesses the global nursing workforce.

During the regional updates session, Dean Suparat presented the progress of NurseCMU as a WHO Collaborating Centre, highlighting its proactive role in advancing nursing through research, education, and international partnerships.

The faculty’s active involvement in this global forum underscores its leadership in nursing knowledge creation, policy development, and fostering international cooperation—efforts that contribute to building sustainable health systems and addressing the evolving challenges of global health through ongoing international collaboration.
