Rising to the World Stage: CMU Student Wins Asia’s Best and Global Third at Chinese Bridge

Chiang Mai University (CMU) extends its heartfelt congratulations to Ms. Warinda (Mook) Bianglaeku, a fourth-year Chinese major from the Faculty of Humanities, for achieving first place in Asia and third place globally at the 24th Chinese Bridge Competition, an international Chinese language proficiency contest for higher education students.
Held on August 24, 2025, in Pingtan County, in the province of Fujian, China, the prestigious competition brought together 155 outstanding participants from 133 countries. Contestants showcased their knowledge and skills through rigorous rounds that included public speaking, quizzes on Chinese language, culture, and history, as well as artistic and cultural talent presentations that demonstrated a deep appreciation of Chinese civilization. After advancing through the Top 30, Top 15, and Top 3 stages, Ms. Warinda was named Asia’s champion and the second runner-up worldwide.
More than just a language contest, Chinese Bridge serves as a platform for cultural exchange and mutual understanding among young people across the globe. Ms. Warinda’s exceptional achievement not only highlights her remarkable talent and dedication, but also reflects the high standard of Chinese language education in Thailand and the strong potential of Thai students on the international stage.
