At 1:30 PM on June 22, 2025, the International College of Digital Innovation (ICDI), Chiang Mai University, held a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Sichuan Chuanji Education Consulting Co., Ltd. at the Chengdu campus of Chuanji Education Group. The ceremony also featured an official information session introducing the new preparatory program to be jointly established.

Assistant Professor Dr. Rujira Ooncharoen, Dean of the International College of Digital Innovation, represented ICDI in signing the agreement alongside Mr. Yang Li, Director of Chuanji Education. This partnership marks a significant milestone in strengthening academic cooperation between Thailand and China and reflects Chiang Mai University’s commitment to expanding its local engagement in China.

Under the MOU, both parties will jointly establish the Chiang Mai University and ICDI Preparatory Program in Chengdu, with academic and operational support provided by Chuanji Education Group. The program aims to equip Chinese students with essential language and academic skills to prepare them for undergraduate study at Chiang Mai University in Thailand.

On this occasion, the ICDI delegation also delivered a presentation on Thailand’s higher education system, Chiang Mai University’s international programs, and ICDI’s key strengths in digital innovation and cross-border entrepreneurship. The session garnered strong interest from students, parents, and local media representatives in attendance.

This collaboration represents a key milestone in ICDI’s Localization Strategy in China, positioning the Chengdu preparatory program as a pilot model for future academic cooperation between Thailand and China. Through this initiative, ICDI seeks to establish a high-quality, locally relevant educational gateway that provides Chinese students with a reliable and well-structured pathway to international education.
