Students of the Faculty of Architecture, CMU swept 3 international awards in Bamboo Architecture Design Competition 2021 at Nansha Bird Park, Guangzhou, China

“Weaving Machine”, the bamboo architecture, was created by SUSU Team-CMU students, was created by Mr. Prem Cheditha, Ms. Silin Zhang and Mr. Bolun Liang from IDEA Program as well as Ms. Tamonwan Kwandee and Ms. Chaninard Thephi from Bachelor of Science, Architecture Program under the team supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Burin Tharavichitkun. The prizes which they won were “Competition Champion First Prize”, “Second Place of Comprehensive expression” and “Third Place of the Best Creativity” in the 2021 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Great Bay Area -Association of Southeast Asian Nations International Colleges Design & Construction Competition, Theme: “Originated from Traditional Techniques and Arts”, at Nansha Bird Park, Guangzhou, China on December 12, 2021.


Bamboo Architecture Design Competition 2021 was organized by the School of Architecture of South China University of Technology and Guangzhou Nansha Bird Park in collaboration with many organizations in China and abroad for supporting students to gain experience in designing, exchanging ideas and culture. There were 17 teams that joined this Final Round of the Bamboo Architecture Design Competition 2021 which were from China, Guangzhou, Beijing, Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. The bamboo architectures of all 17 teams have been built and displayed at Guangzhou Nansha Bird Park, Guangzhou, China.
