Assistant Professor Dr. Worawit Janchai, Dean of the College of Arts, Media, and Technology (CAMT) Chiang Mai University, along with Assistant Professor Dr. Orawit Thinnukool, Acting of the Dean to International Collaboration and Fundraising; Assistant Professor Dr. Phattaraporn Khuwuthyakorn, faculty member and CMU project managers of the European Commission Fund; and Assistant Professor Dr. Atchara Khamakson, Acting of the Dean to Knowledge Development and Innovation Management and Head of the Knowledge Development and Innovation Center, participated in a partnership signing ceremony with the Transport Risk Management Centre, at Imperial College London.
The collaboration is part of the "Person to Organization Program (P2O Program)," an initiative under Chiang Mai University's strategic framework to establish global partnerships.
In this event, Assistant Professor Dr. Worawit Janchai, Dean of CAMT, signed the agreement with Professor Arnab Majumdar, Director of the Transport Risk Management Centre and Deputy Director of the London Interdisciplinary Social Science Doctoral Training Partnership. The partnership encompasses collaborative research on artificial intelligence in healthcare, short-term student exchange programs, and efforts to seek relevant funding opportunities.
For over three years, CAMT’s Innovative Research and Computational Science Group has worked closely with the Transport Risk Management Centre, exchanging resources and collaborating on research activities. This long-term partnership has culminated in the development of a more formalized and intensive collaboration agreement.
Starting in 2025, CAMT’s Innovative Research and Computational Science Group will embark on projects focused on studying the relationship between sleep-related disorders and their correlation with accidents. These efforts will involve collaboration with both internal and external institutions, including the Sriphat Medical Center, Faculty of Medicine, and etc. The project will integrate academic learning and research, engaging students and external experts to align with CAMT’s policy of creating advanced learning opportunities and experiences.
This initiative particularly emphasizes collaboration with teams from Imperial College London, the world’s second-ranked university. This marks the initial success of the collaboration between CAMT and its international partner institution. CAMT’s Innovative Research and Computational Science Group is committed to advancing the agreement, seeking funding opportunities, and expanding international collaborations in alignment with Chiang Mai University’s 13th Strategic Plan.
