“CMU-Done Por Dee" Receives Honorable Mention Award for Invention from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn

On February 2, 2025, Professor Dr. Nipon Theera-Umpon, along with Associate Professor Dr.Nuntigar Sonsuwan and Dr. Suruk Udomsom, attended the National Research Awards ceremony held at the "Thailand Inventors' day 2025" at BITEC Bangna, Bangkok.

This year, the invention "CMU-DonePorDee, Personalized nasal tip push device for cleft lip and palate patients" received an Honorable Mention Award for Invention in the field of Engineering and Industrial Research from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.

The National Research Awards ceremony is organized by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) to honor and recognize Thai researchers and inventors whose research, inventions, and innovations benefit national development. The ceremony also promotes research and development across various fields, including science, technology, humanities, and social sciences, to encourage and motivate the development of high-quality work.

"CMU-DonePorDee, Personalized nasal tip push device for cleft lip and palate patients" was designed and developed through a collaborative effort led by Professor Dr. Nipon Theera-Umpon and Dr. Suruk Udomsom from the Biomedical Engineering Institute, Chiang Mai University, along with Associate Professor Dr. Marasri Chaiworawitkul from the Faculty of Dentistry, Chiang Mai University, and Associate Professor Dr. Nuntigar Sonsuwan from the Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University.

Currently, "CMU-DonePorDee" is produced by the Biomedical Engineering Institute, Chiang Mai University, and has been used with nearly 3,000 Cleft Lip and Cleft Palate patients across Northern Thailand and nearby provinces through the Cleft Center, Faculty of Dentistry, Chiang Mai University and Princess Sirindhorn IT Foundation Craniofacial Center, Chiang Mai University.
