Strengthening Global Nursing Partnerships: NurseCMU and DUSON Join Forces

On January 9, 2025, the Faculty of Nursing at Chiang Mai University (NurseCMU) and the Duke University School of Nursing (DUSON) held a virtual meeting to strengthen academic partnerships and discuss future initiatives.

Leaders and representatives from both institutions participated in the meeting:

- From NurseCMU: Asst. Prof. Dr. Suparat Wangsrikhun (Dean), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phanida Juntasopeepun (Associate Dean for Research and Global Affairs), Asst. Prof. Dr. Nethong Namprom (Associate Dean), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Noppamas Sripetchwandee (Assistant Dean), Asst. Prof. Dr. Preeyakamon Krikitrat (Assistant Dean), and Ms. Pattraporn Srisombat (International Coordinator).

- From DUSON: Prof. Dr. Eleanor Stevenson (Professor and Interim Vice Dean for Global and Community Health Affairs), Dr. Emily Funk (Director of Global Academic Partnerships and Innovation), and Mr. Justin Wellins (Program Director, Global Health Affairs).

The meeting focused on exploring initiatives such as the invitation extended by DUSON for Dean Suparat and Dr. Phanida to visit for a one-week program, faculty and student exchanges, joint research projects, and cross-institutional collaborations. These discussions mark the beginning of a strong partnership, aiming to foster sustainable collaboration and contribute to advancing global nursing education and research.
