Big Cat Anesthesia and Dentistry Workshop

On May 5-6, 2022: The Elephant and Wildlife Health Center, CMU Animal Health University, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Chiang Mai University in collaboration with Tiger Kindom hold the workshop on “Big Cat Anesthesia and Dentistry Workshop” at Tiger Kidom, Mae Taeng, Chiang Mai. Associate Professor Dr. Chatchote Titaram, Director of The Elephant and Wildlife Health Center delivered opening remarks on the first day of the workshop and Major General Kotchaokorn Chaibutr, Managing Director of Tiger Kindom, delivered welcome remarks and support the venue of the workshop at Tiger Kingdom in Mae Taeng, and Mae Rim, Chiang Mai.
The workshop is aimed to develop the capacity building for veterinarians to enhance skills and experience to perform the anesthesia and the necessary dental procedures in big cats. This knowledge can also be applied to anesthesia and dental procedures in other wildlife such as wolves, lynxes, bears and monkeys. The workshop will improve the animal health and animal welfare including the conservation of tigers and other wildlife in the future.
