CAMT and CAS Cogniser win best innovation award at China-ASEAN Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition

Assistant Professor Dr. Paradorn Sureephong, Deputy Director of Digital Innovation and Transformation Centre (DITC), CMU College of Art, Media and Technology (CAMT), in partnership with CAS Cogniser (Thailand), represented Thailand and won the Creativity Star award at the 2022 China-ASEAN Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (CAIEC) themed ‘Computer Vision Technology for Collaboration Between Cloud Platform and Edge Terminal’. The award was presented by Mr. Satvinder Singh, Deputy Secretary-General for ASEAN Economic Community, and Ms. Hou Yanqi, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to ASEAN to the Committee of Permanent Representatives (CPR) to ASEAN on behalf of the winner from Thailand.
The 2022 China-ASEAN Innovation and Entrepreneurship invited 71 teams of innovators working in the education and public sectors in ASEAN countries and China. It provided the participants with professional consultants and training that would allow them to showcase their capacity in presenting their innovation, as well as a platform to exchange ideas and build collaboration between Chinese and ASEAN entrepreneurs. The event was hosted by China's Ministry of Science and Technology and the ASEAN Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation (COSTI).
CAS Cogniser (Thailand) is a startup that specialises in advanced AI technology, founded due to the collaboration between CAMP and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. It also has cooperation with the Institute of Software Application Technology, Guangzhou. Powered by leading experts in the AI industry, the company has released products that are adopted in multiple fields, including public security, education, tourism, government projects, agriculture and commerce, and this award is an added mark of honour and pride. The presentation ceremony was held at the ASEAN Secretariat, Jakarta, on January 9, 2023.
