CMU Social Science Students Deepen Global Learning in Malaysia under the Knowledge Enhancement Program 2025

The Bachelor of Arts Program in Social Science and Sustainable Development (International Program), Department of Social Sciences and Development, Faculty of Social Sciences, Chiang Mai University, recently arranged the “Knowledge Enhancement Program 2025” to promote CMU’s internationalization. The Program, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Prasit Leepreecha and Asst. Prof. Dr. Mukdawan Sakboon brought 28 students to Kuala Lumpur and Penang, Malaysia, from 1-7 June 2025, to learn about multiculturalism and heritage conservation in the context of Malaysia. Students participated in lectures, field excursions and group discussions, culminating in final reports and video production.
During the trip, the group attended lectures at Universiti Malaya, Museum of Asian Arts and Arts Gallery (Muzium Seni Asia), Fort Cornwallis, Penang Heritage Gallery, and Peranakan Mansion, to learn about Malaysia’s diverse cultures and historical legacy.
