Stop Sexual Harassment Bystander Intervention

Associate Professor Dr. Piyapong Niamsup, Vice President, presided over the opening ceremony of the campaign ‘Stop Sexual Harassment Bystander Intervention’, which was also attended by the British Honorary Consul in Chiang Mai, executives of FOCUS (Foundation of Child Understanding), representatives from the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI), CMU staff and students. The event aimed to promote an understanding of human rights, particularly in gender-related issues to address sexual harassment, sexual assault and gender-based violence. The CMU Women’s Studies Centre is one of the university’s key driving agents in the area of gender equality, eradicating gender discrimination in all forms through collaborations with the public, private and civil sectors to create awareness and proper understanding of sexual harassment and its impacts on victims, as well as to create awareness of the problems and encourage participation in campaigns eradicating sexual harassment and encouraging bystanders to stop it. The event was held at Lan San Khit on November 28, 2023.
