Biology PhD student wins Best Oral Presentation from Tokai University, Japan

Mr. Sittisak Intarasit, a Ph.D. student from the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science, won Best Oral Presentation from his research titled, ‘Nitric oxide level modification on antioxidant enzyme activity, antioxidant capacity and pericarp browning of postharvest longan fruit’ at the 12th International Conference on Bioscience, Biochemistry and Bioinformatics (ICBBB 2022). Co-organised by Hong Kong Chemical, Biological & Environmental Engineering Society (HKCBEES), Tokai University, Biology and Bioinformatics Society (BBS) and South China University of Technology, the online conference was held during January 7 – 10, 2022 at Tokai University, Tokyo, Japan.
The research is a part of his PhD dissertation titled, ‘Effects of gaseous chlorine dioxide on reactive nitrogen species (RNS) metabolism of postharvest ‘Daw’ longan fruit in relation to pericarp browning’, which is supervised by Assist. Prof. Dr. Kobkiat Saengnil, Assist. Prof. Dr. Jamnong Uthaibutra, Assist. Prof. Dr. Usara Panya, and Dr. Kamolchanok Umnajkitikorn, who is from the Institute of Agricultural Technology, Suranaree University of Technology.
