฿12 million in scholarships awarded by CMU and CMU Promotion Committee

During an online ceremony, Chiang Mai University and the University’s Promotion Committee awarded 593 scholarships worth 12,135,800 baht. This total consisted of 51 continuous scholarships, 382 yearly scholarships, 60 scholarships for students with severe financial difficulties, and 100 preparation scholarships. Funded by the university’s revenue and donations from various sources, these scholarships aimed to provide financial aid to students who lack the resources to pursue their education, thus allowing them to become CMU graduates equipped with a sense of morality, gratitude, and civic responsibility.

The award ceremony for the 2021 scholarships was chaired by Clinical Prof. Niwes Nantachit, M.D., CMU President, who awarded the scholarships and offered his congratulations to the recipients. Ms. Weena Phattaraprasit, Chair of CMU Promotion Committee, gave an online lecture, and Assoc. Prof. Amnat Yousukh, M.D., CMU Vice President, gave a report on the event. Other honourable guests attending the online event included CMU administrators, members of the CMU Promotion Committee, representatives from several agencies, and teaching and administrative staff, along with 29 recipients of this year’s scholarships from each faculty. The ceremony took place on September 21, 2021, in the Tawan Kangwanphong Meeting Room, Office of Strategy, Office of the University, CMU.
