The International College of Digital Innovation (ICDI) at Chiang Mai University organized an "Thai New Year Festival" activity as an integral part of the SEED Program
The International College of Digital Innovation hosted the Thai New Year Festival for Chiang Mai University students.
The aim of the activity was to encourage students from Chiang Mai University to exchange knowledge about the traditions of Songkran, or Thai New Year. During the event, students learned Lanna papercraft, made from brightly colored kite paper, which they folded and cut into shape. These Lanna papercraft were then hung on bamboo sticks and placed on a sand pagoda as Buddhist offerings at Wat Lok Moli. This practice is commonly performed on Phaya Wan Day to worship the pagoda, often accompanied by offerings related to the 12 zodiac signs. The event took place on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, and there was a participation of 54 international students, faculty, and staff members.
